Increase in the Consumer Price Index in Palestine

RAMALLAH-(BNEWS) - The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Palestine increased during August by 0.73% compared with July, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

The increase was by 0.79% in the West Bank, 0.70% in Jerusalem, and by 0.59% in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian CPI during August 2023 increased by 4.90% compared with August 2022, an increase of 5.37% in the West Bank, 4.07% in Jerusalem, and 3.90% in the Gaza Strip.

The changes in Palestinian CPI during August 2023 were traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure subgroups compared with the previous month:
