RAMALLAH-BNEWS- The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Palestine during May recorded a slight decrease of 0.27% compared with April (a decrease of 1.47% in the Gaza Strip and 0.05% in the West Bank, while the CPI increased by 0.56% in Jerusalem), today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

It said the relative stability in the May prices compared to the previous month was despite the increase in the prices of bread and flour but leveled off from a decline in the prices of fresh vegetables and poultry.

When compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, May CPI recorded an increase of 3.43 percent (an increase of 4.65 percent in Jerusalem, 3.41 percent in the Gaza Strip, and 3.19% in the West Bank).
