Ramallah-Finance and Business News- The Ministry of National Economy concluded the third bazaar to support women's products under the slogan "Bazaar of Insistence to Continue the Journey", which lasted for two days, with the participation of 68 women entrepreneurs from different governorates, with the support of UN Women and the Palestinian Communications Group.
Organizing the bazaar comes within the activities of the National Day to support the Palestinian product, with the aim of helping women entrepreneurs to market their products and continue their work, especially in light of the repercussions of the Covid 19 pandemic, by providing a space for them to display and market their products.
Minister of National Economy Khaled Al-Aseeli expressed his thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this distinguished women's bazaar, stressing the importance of these promotional forums for national products, and for informing citizens of their quality.
The minister pointed to the efforts being made to confront the attempts of the Israeli occupation to steal our heritage and obliterate our national identity, and to work to confront and expose these policies, and we are now introducing the world to the Palestinian national identity through our participation in the Dubai International Expo 2020.
The bazaar included an awareness workshop for women entrepreneurs participating by representatives of the Ministry of National Economy and the Monetary Authority, on the services and sources of funding provided by the Ministry and the Monetary Authority, including the in-kind / non-financial grants fund and registration services, in addition to the "sustainability" program for zero loans.
The participants recommended the necessity of providing opportunities to participate in future specialized counseling and awareness sessions as a follow-up to this workshop.
In turn, Hadeel Nasser, Director of the Economic Empowerment Program at UN Women, indicated that the economic empowerment of Palestinian women is a priority supported by the United Nations, and that work towards achieving this is achieved through partnerships with large national and international sectors.
Nasser added that the partnership with the Ministry of National Economy and support for this bazaar aims to address the effects on women entrepreneurs as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, as they are the most affected by the economic restrictions associated with the pandemic, by working to enhance their access to economic and financial services and enhance their businesses in line with Strategic priorities for UN Women in Palestine.
An entrepreneurial woman from Beit Furik, Nablus district, said that the awareness session that was presented during the exhibition is important to always include it in women’s exhibitions because of its importance in informing women from marginalized areas about the services provided by the ministry to women entrepreneurs, and another woman from Nablus indicated that it is important to promote products Feminism is on a national level on a permanent basis and that this is not limited to seasonal exhibitions only.
The implementation of this bazaar comes within the framework of the “Insistence to Continue the Journey” program implemented by the Ministry of National Economy with funding from UN Women, within the framework of the joint program “Mitigating the Effects of the Corona Pandemic on Women’s Economic Participation in Palestine”, implemented by the United Nations Women and the Food Program The Global Program, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the United Nations Development Programme, with funding from the Government of Norway and the United Nations Secretary-General’s Fund to Confront and Recover from the COVID-19 Pandemic, and the Joint Regional Program “Promoting Productive Work and Decent Work for Women in Palestine, Jordan and Egypt”, funded by the Agency The Swedish International Development Cooperation (SIDA), with the support of the Palestinian Communications Group.
